First edition of this translation, published as part of Shamov’s series of Dickens’ works (not a collected edition). Martin Chuzzlewit first appeared in Russian in 1844, via a French translation, in the journal Otechestvennye zapiski. The first separate edition, in a translation by Lazareva, was published in Moscow in 1890–1.
